Winter gloves, is a subcategory of coated gloves. It features a thicker liner and a rubber coating. The acrylic is the most typical yarn that is used for liner, other liners including poly-cotton, and polyester. The liner of winter gloves is usually brushed inside to increase warmth. 7 gauge acrylic might be the most common liner for winter gloves. 10 gauge liner can be seen very often.  The coating of winter gloves have latex, latex foam and sandy finish coating available. If you are looking for one pair of winter glove that is less stiff,  the one with latex foam coating or sandy finish coating is a better choice.

What determines the cost of winter gloves?

  • What the liner yarn material. Acrylic is usually the most expensive material for winter coated gloves which has a better performance to keep warm.  Poly cotton is cheaper but is not as good as acrylic in terms of keeping warm.

  • What the coating is. Sandy finish is the most expensive coating, foam latex is less expensive and plain latex coating is cheapest among these three.
